Sundy Best to join Class of 2026

On Saturday night at the Manchester Music Hall in Lexington, Kentucky, Sundy Best was surprised with an announcement. Executive Director, Jessica Blankenship, surprised Nic Jamerson and Kris Bentley during their performance to a packed house. Hailing from eastern Kentucky, Sundy Best have built a loyal following with their signature blend of country, rock, and Appalachian influences. Known for their authentic storytelling, the duo has become a defining voice in Kentucky music.

Sundy Best started in 2011 with a self produced album, “Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations,” followed by “Door Without a Screen.” Since then, they have released multiple albums and singles that reached the heart of music fans including “Home,” “Lily,” “Mountain Parkway,” “Four Door,” and more. One song that made a major impact on many was “Hindman,” with the heartfelt love story that many could relate to. Through their music, Sundy Best, has been known to help heal in times of tragedy assisting those affected by flooding of eastern Kentucky, as well as tornado relief efforts in south east Kentucky. Furthermore, both Nicholas and Kris have worked with singer-songwriters in learning about the songwriting craft and encouraging those that want to become musicians.

“Before you heard the household names of Stapleton, Childers, and Sturgill, you learned about Sundy Best,” exclaimed Blankenship. “They have helped influence modern Kentucky singer songwriters including Cole Chaney and others to put a positive spotlight on Kentucky music. Sundy Best have built a new generation of fans and support them as well.”

The official induction ceremony will take place in October 2026 and helps celebrates the achievements and lasting contributions of those that contribute to Kentucky’s music heritage.
