The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Board of Directors is pleased to announce that our next member of the 2026 Inductee Class is Mr. Arthur B. Hancock III. Over the years, Arthur has been a devotee of bluegrass music and has written songs that have been recorded by the likes of Ray Price, Willie Nelson, Grandpa Jones, among others. He has recorded several albums with a team of bluegrass musicians including fellow Hall of Fame members, Sam Bush, J.D. Crowe, and more.
Outside of music, Arthur is known in the equine industry for his farm, Stone Farm in Paris, Kentucky. The farm has raised three Kentucky Derby winners, including Sunday Silence, that played an important role in his life. In October, the Legends of Bourbon County honored Stone Farm with a mural and recognition of his personal and professional accomplishments.
Earlier this year, Mr. Hancock released his first book, “Dark Horses: A Memoir of Redemption,” that tells the story of growing up on Claiborne farm, songwriting adventures, winning the battle of alcoholism, and becoming a successful owner and breeder of racehorses.
Arthur B. Hancock III’s rare combination of business, artistic creativity, and vision has left a legacy in both American horse racing and music.
