The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame is proud to announce the induction of Chris Kael of Five Finger Death Punch, into the class of 2026. His induction recognizes his lasting contribution to Kentucky’s rich music heritage and his support of the arts across the Commonwealth.
Prior to joining the band in 2011, he helped shape the Central Kentucky rock scene with the band Cut Love Kill, among others. Chris has been a key part in the success of Five Finger Death Punch, performing on several hit albums, as well as touring around the world. Most recently, the band celebrated having the first rock song featuring Japanese lyrics to go to #1 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart. It would also mark the band’s 17th number one song and 13th in a row.
Beyond his musical achievements, Chris Kael has been recognized for his advocacy for sobriety and promoting mental health awareness. He was also honored when he was named a Kentucky Colonel, one of the Commonwealth’s highest distinctions.
“When it comes to rock music, the first person I think of that helped shape Kentucky’s rock sound would be Chris Kael,” explains Jessica Blankenship, Executive Director. “I’ve seen him rise in the music scene while playing in clubs in Kentucky and beyond. Not only is he an excellent bass player and vocalist, Chris is also an overall great human helping others. He truly represents Kentucky and what the Hall of the Fame is about.”
Chris Kael will be joining Darrell Scott, Arthur B. Hancock, III, Byron Roberts, Sundy Best, Velma Williams Smith, and Charlie Gearheart into the Induction Class of 2026. The Induction Ceremony will take place on October 24th at Campbell House Inn in Lexington, Kentucky. Tickets will be available to purchase on May 1st at www.kentuckymusichalloffame.com.
