Combining the traditional sounds of yesterday with the progressive sounds of tomorrow, Kentucky Just Us, has created a fresh new sound uniquely their own. Their tight harmonies, storytelling lyrics, and skillful instrumentation make their music relevant across many genres and audiences of all ages.

Since their formation in 2014 the group have tried to remain true to themselves and their roots. “I tried to teach them from an early age to be who they are wherever they go or what stage they play. I think the name Kentucky Just Us not only embodies them as people but their music as well,” says Terry O’Neal, Manager of the band.

Kentucky Just Us has received many prestigious honors including: recipients of the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation Johnny Lee Vincent Memorial Scholarship, 2019 KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Contest Winners, Winners of the Dailey and Vincent Landfest Band Contest, and many others. The group’s banjo player and lead singer, Jesse Meador, was awarded 50th Walnut Valley Festival National Banjo Champion in 2022.

The band has recently released their latest single entitled “Blue Kentucky Morning” written by award-winning songwriter David Stewart. The song is a fresh take on traditional bluegrass that keeps you coming back to hear it over and over again.

Earlier this year Kentucky Just Us released “Bluegrass Music”, which was written by Tim Raybon. The group’s performance on the song was dedicated to one of their most influential inspirations, The Osborne Brothers. Kentucky Just Us released their album “Mountains of Home” in 2022 and it quickly climbed radio charts across Bluegrass, Country, and Gospel. These are just a couple examples of the groups producing abilities as well as songwriting skills as they have written over 60+ songs and counting.

Kentucky Just Us has performed at many world renowned festivals, events, and theaters, including: the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, The Station Inn, Dailey and Vincent’s American Made Music Festival, The Industrial Strength Bluegrass Festival, Rory Feek’s Hardison Mill Homestead Hall, Silver Dollar City, and many more.
