When it comes to musical talent, Kentucky has no shortage. Beginning in 2026, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame will partner with singer-songwriters across the Commonwealth to launch its new Ambassador Program. Each year, two individuals from different regions of the state will be selected to represent the Hall of Fame at various events while also receiving professional guidance, mentorship, and support in songwriting and music industry essentials.
For 2026, the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame is proud to name Emily Jamerson of Prestonsburg and Josh Mitcham of Webster as its inaugural Ambassadors. Both artists have demonstrated exceptional promise through their songwriting and live performances in recent years. They have also been strong supporters of fellow Kentucky musicians and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. As they continue to grow their careers, the Hall of Fame is excited to support their development while they help share and celebrate the rich story of Kentucky’s music heritage.
Emily Jamerson is a singer-songwriter from Prestonsburg, Kentucky, whose music blends Appalachian tradition with a fresh, heartfelt voice. Influenced by gospel, folk, and artists such as Loretta Lynn and John Prine, Jamerson’s songs tell deeply personal stories with warmth and honesty. Whether performing originals like “Run, Run Baby” or “Love Song,” she captivates audiences with soulful vocals and an intimate stage presence. Jamerson has appeared at notable venues and festivals including Laurel Cove Music Festival, Manchester Music Festival, Master Musicians Festival, The Burl, and Duke’s Indy, steadily building a devoted fanbase. Rooted in the mountains yet reaching far beyond, her performances feel both timeless and deeply personal.
Josh Mitcham, a Webster, Kentucky-based singer-songwriter, blends his love of country music with authentic storytelling and heartfelt passion. His sound reflects lived experience—honest, grounded, and relatable—while his performances radiate positivity and connection. Whether performing solo or with his band, Mitcham offers audiences a genuine glimpse into country life. He lives on his family farm with his wife, Stella, and their three children, and curates The Ramble at the Randall at his barn venue, Randall Barn, further supporting live music and community in rural Kentucky.
We look forward to 2026 and seeing the Kentucky music community grow.
